Vert Sp/F

Privacy policy

This page explains which personal data Vert processes when you use vert.fo, book a place to stay, join the waitlist or contact us, and what your rights are.

Last updated 2 October 2026

1. Who is responsible

Vert Sp/F (VAT no. 658340), Á Hjalla 7B, 188 Hoyvík, Faroe Islands, is responsible for processing your personal data. You can always write to us at vert@vert.fo or call +298 205050.

We follow the Faroese Data Protection Act (løgtingslóg nr. 80 of 7 June 2020 on the protection of personal data) and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. When you book a place to stay

When you book directly on vert.fo, you enter your details in our secure booking system (Beds24). We process your name, e-mail, phone number, country, expected arrival time, your message to us and the details of the booking itself, such as dates, number of guests and price.

Your card details are stored in Beds24, which meets the card industry's security standard (PCI DSS). Vert's website never sees your card number.

We use the data to handle your booking, send you a confirmation and arrival and key information, take payment and help you during your stay. The legal basis is the rental contract.

If you book through Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia or other booking sites, we receive the data we need for your stay from them. The booking sites process your data under their own privacy policies.

If you ask for a group booking, we process your name, e-mail, phone number, club or company, dates, number of people, the homes you chose and your message to us. We use them to prepare an offer and contact you. The legal basis is your consent and your wish to enter into a rental contract.

3. Waitlist, long-term rental and damage reports

If you join the waitlist or show interest in a rental home, we process your name, e-mail, phone number and what you tell us about your wishes, for example the type of home, place, rent, number of people, pets and work or studies.

We only use the data to find a suitable home for you and to contact you. The legal basis is your consent. The data is kept for up to 6 months, and you can withdraw your consent at any time.

If you report damage in a rental home, we process your name, contact details, address, the description and the photos you send. We do this to get the damage repaired and to look after the home, as the rental contract provides.

4. Owners who ask for an estimate or register a property

If you register your property with us, we process your name, contact details, address and information about the property, including access details (such as a key box and Wi-Fi). We only receive bank details for payouts when the management agreement is made. We use the data to make and keep the management agreement and to let the property.

The form keeps a draft in your own browser so you can continue later. The draft is not sent to us until you submit the form.

If you ask for a no-obligation estimate on the owners page, we process your name, phone number, email and what you tell us about the property, and use it to contact you about the estimate. Your name, phone number, email, location and type of home are also kept as a draft of the registration in your own browser.

5. When you contact us

If you write to or call us, we process the information you give us so that we can answer you.

If you send us a job application (hr@vert.fo), we only use it for the recruitment and do not keep it longer than necessary.

6. The website and your browser

We do not use cookies to track you, and we use no advertising networks. To know which pages are read, we count visits with Vercel Web Analytics, and Vercel Speed Insights measures how fast the pages load. Neither uses cookies, stores your IP address or can recognise you from one day to the next.

The website keeps a few small pieces of information in your own browser: which campaigns you have closed, the homes you have put in a group booking, and the draft of the registration form with a random number. The number lets us see at which step people stop, without knowing who you are.

Some parts of the page are loaded from others: maps from OpenFreeMap and the booking form from Beds24, which sets its own cookie while you book. These providers see your IP address, as is normal on the internet.

Our hosting provider (Vercel) briefly logs technical information such as IP address, time and the page requested, for operation and security.

7. Who receives the data

We never sell personal data. We only pass data on when it is necessary:

  • Beds24 and Godo, who provide the booking system and the connection to the booking sites
  • the owner of the home, who receives the booking details they need
  • Resend, who sends the e-mails from the forms on the website
  • Vercel, who hosts the website
  • accountants, auditors and authorities, when the law requires it

8. Transfers to other countries

Some providers, such as Vercel and Resend, are based in the United States. When data is transferred out of the Faroe Islands and the EU, this is done on a basis provided by data protection law, for example the EU standard contractual clauses.

9. How long we keep the data

We do not keep data longer than necessary:

  • bookings: as long as the Bookkeeping Act requires
  • waitlist and interest in rental homes: up to 6 months
  • damage reports: as long as the case and the tenancy require
  • owners: while we work together, and then as long as the Bookkeeping Act requires
  • e-mails and enquiries: as long as needed to deal with the matter

10. Your rights

You have the right to see the data we hold about you and to have incorrect data corrected. You can also ask us to delete data, restrict or object to the processing, and receive the data you have given us in a common format.

If you have given consent, you can withdraw it at any time. This does not affect processing before you withdrew it.

Write to vert@vert.fo. We answer as soon as possible and within one month at the latest.

11. Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we process your data, you can complain to the Faroese Data Protection Authority (Dátueftirlitið), Heiðavegur 25, 600 Saltangará (dat.fo). We would, however, appreciate the chance to resolve the matter with you first.

12. Changes

We may update this privacy policy, for example when we change services or providers. The latest version is always here, and the date above shows when it was last changed.
