From Ognartænastan to Vert
Vert started in 2018 under the name Ognartænastan. Since then the company has grown step by step, mainly through recommendations from owners whose homes we already look after. Today we look after 140+ holiday homes in the Faroe Islands, with our own cleaning staff, our own caretaker and a team that is here, where the homes are.

Our homes are on vert.fo, Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Vrbo and other channels. One shared calendar keeps everything up to date.

We talk with guests before they arrive, help them get in, and guests have an emergency line that is open around the clock.
Our own cleaning staff
We clean after every stay and take care of bed linen and towels, so the home is ready for the next guest.

If something practical comes up, we have people in the Faroe Islands who can come quickly and sort it out.

In Faroese, vert means lodging. A vertur is the one who welcomes guests. And something vert is worth something. We want every stay to be worth its weight in gold.

Where are you?
Our office is at Á Hjalla 7B, 188 Hoyvík. Our homes are all over the islands, in villages as well as towns.
How do I get into the home?
Before you arrive, we send you a message on how to get in. If you have questions, you can always contact us.
What do I do if something is wrong during my stay?
Call us on +298 205050. Guests have an emergency line that is open around the clock, and we have our own caretaker who can come out if needed.
Are bed linen and towels included?
Yes. We clean after every stay and make the beds, so bed linen and towels are ready when you arrive.
Can I cancel my booking?
It depends on the rate you choose. The terms are in the rate's name, e.g. “Standard – 14 days”, which can be cancelled free of charge up to 14 days before arrival, or “Non-refundable”, which is never refunded. Read the booking terms
Can I book directly with Vert?
Yes, on vert.fo. The same homes are also on Airbnb, Booking.com and other channels, but when you book directly you deal with us from the start.
We are a large group. Can you help?
Yes. We have homes of different sizes and can help you find several homes for the same group. Call or write to us.
I own a home. Can you rent it out?
