Sandoy is the gentlest of the islands — low hills, broad valleys and the wide sandy beach at Sandur. The subsea tunnel opened in 2023 and put the island 25 minutes from Tórshavn. The bay at Søltuvík on the west coast is a favourite spot for watching the weather roll in.
