The location was perfect and the house was comfortable and had everything we needed. We hiked to Mýlingur, which I cannot honestly believe we were able to accomplish! It was one of the most challenging yet rewarding things we’ve ever done (our family of four). Just an incredible spot. Note that we couldn’t get the tv to work properly or connect Netflix but wifi was good.

We enjoyed this cozy home in an incredibly picturesque setting surrounded by mountains on Tjornuvik Beach. The town is tiny and feels pretty remote, accessible via a one-lane road down the side of the mountain--a stunning approach. There are no grocery stores (or stores or any kind, really) or restaurants, so stock up on groceries or food ~30 mins outside. Like most houses in the Faroes, this one is small, but cozy. Our group of four adults did just fine using it as a home base and spending evenings there for dinners in/chatting/playing cards/etc. Everything was clean, the kitchen was well stocked, the dishwasher was helpful, heating and air were all good. As reviewers noted, there are only a few small windows in the living room so you really need to get outside for the views of the beach/sea and the mountains. Would recommend it you're looking for a calm, restorative part of your trip in a very low-key and picturesque setting!

This is a cozy home great for making the beautiful village of Tjornuvik a base for hiking in Streymoy. We enjoyed being immersed in this walkable, living neighborhood long after visitors had left each day. The hike from Tjornuvik to Saksun is a must on a clear day!
